1. Introduction
GoSiftly (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Google Sheets–based tool that helps users clean, deduplicate, and organize real-estate lead lists. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your information.
2. What data does GoSiftly access?
GoSiftly runs entirely inside your Google account and only accesses the data needed to perform its functions. Specifically, GoSiftly may:
Read and write data within the Google Sheet where the tool is installed.
Create or modify sheets and tabs inside your GoSiftly file (for importing, exporting, or resetting lists).
Store tool settings and user preferences in the current spreadsheet.
Create and manage app-owned files in your Google Drive to support backups and faster duplicate detection (for example, a “GoSiftly Backups — [spreadsheet id]” folder containing CSV backups and a “GoSiftly Index Warehouse — [spreadsheet id]” folder containing hash-only index drawers).
Read those app-owned files’ metadata and contents only to operate features like the Import Detective.
GoSiftly does not read or modify other files in your Drive that it did not create (unless you explicitly open/select a file for GoSiftly to use).
2a. Permissions we request (OAuth scopes)
To provide these features, GoSiftly requests the minimum Google permissions below:
spreadsheets.currentonly – Accesses only the current spreadsheet to read/write your lists and results.
script.container.ui – Shows custom menus, dialogs, and progress messages in your Sheet.
drive.file – Creates and manages app-owned files (backups and index drawers) and files you explicitly open with GoSiftly.
script.external_request – Calls Google APIs (e.g., Google Drive API) to efficiently read/write those app-owned files. We do not call non-Google services.
3. How your data is used
All processing happens within your Google account. We do not collect, transmit, or store your spreadsheet data on our servers.
For duplicate detection, GoSiftly creates hash-only index entries (a truncated SHA-256 of normalized addresses). These hashes are stored in your app-owned Drive folder and are used solely to determine if an address pair has been seen before. They do not include names, emails, phone numbers, or other contact information.
4. How we protect your information
GoSiftly uses Google’s official Apps Script platform and Google APIs within your account.
Sensitive operations (like Drive file access) use your Google OAuth permissions and tokens.
We do not run external databases or store your list data off-platform. No data is sent to third-party servers.
5. Third-party services
GoSiftly does not integrate with non-Google third parties. It uses only Google services to operate: Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and the Google Drive API (including the Advanced Drive service and Drive API file download endpoints). No analytics or advertising SDKs are used.
6. Your controls and choices
You can remove GoSiftly from your spreadsheet at any time.
You control all data in your Sheets and may delete, modify, or export your information.
You may delete the app-owned Drive folders at any time; doing so will remove backups and the hash-only index, and duplicate detection will rebuild as you continue importing.

7. Children’s privacy
GoSiftly is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of GoSiftly after changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
